The Warehouse and Shipping Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities including shipping, receiving and storage of raw materials and finished goods as well as maintaining associated records. Outcomes Manage, communicate, schedule and document and account for 12 or more employees in various roles over 3 shifts, 6 days a week. Conduct training and assure compliance for all safety, policy and procedures, SOP and best practices for all equipment and tools. Comply with food safety and quality standards in the areas of material handling, warehousing and shipping; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions. Manage receiving, cold storage and shipping operations for all shifts and assist with off-site warehousing for internal and external facilities. Control inventory levels and organize warehouse storage of finished goods from storage into production and out of production to transfers or customer shipments. Schedule outbound freight including transfers to outside cold or dry storage sites as well as all inbound raw product through the central docks. Collaborate with production, raw product procurement, sales and other managers to optimize processes; regularly attend production meetings. Manage all important documents such as pick slips, bills of lading, trucking logs, etc. Reconcile outside vendor invoices. Responsible for conducting and maintain physical inventory counts, weekly cycle counts and product tracking providing reports to internal departments in a fast and continuously changing daily environment. Maintain physical condition of warehouse’s and mobile fleets of trucks, trailers and lifts by inspecting equipment, issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement along with overseeing components of the master sanitation program. When needed can operate and perform forklift operator roles to load, locate and move product. Moves trailers into and out of docks to support CDL drivers, can if necessary fill portions or an entire shift in the CDL driver role. Communicates and interacts with sales, accounting, logistic order processing, retail order processing, production, quality assurance, facility and fleet maintenance, raw procurement, farm, fabrication and Bio plant departments daily. Manage the recycling program and track levels, schedule services and track volumes. Contribute to team effort by performing other duties as assigned This position has been identified as holding responsibility for food safety and quality of the company. During absence, this position serves as coverage to these positions: Hwy 20 Warehouses Manager, Logistics Manager and Director of Logistics. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED), some college preferred. Previously managed 15 or more for two or more years. Two or more years related experience and /or training in a shipping and/or food-processing environment where main focus was in the shipping department. Computer capable for two or more years.. Electric Forklift experience/skills required at high level and OSHA trainer preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish desirable.
