We are a small but rapidly growing company with a tightly knit group of employees. We specialize in creating custom herbal formulas but also provide several other products and services. About the Job We are looking for someone to help us compound custom Chinese herbal formulas, use partially automated encapsulation equipment, prepare orders to be shipped by mail and call customers to communicate when orders are ready to be picked up. Please note: This is not an Herbal Pharmacist position. You will not be giving medical advice or designing formulas yourself, so pre-existing knowledge of herbs is not required. This position is much more geared towards preparing and packaging formulas. Education High School diploma or equivalent About the Work Environment You will be predominantly working at a table with both standing and sitting options. The work stations are located in an open-air room with several other employees. You will be selecting herbs from our shelves to prepare formulas (this involves both bending down and reaching above you). There will be frequent, low level background noise including phone conversations, music and face to face customer interactions (headphones can often be used, if desired, and personal conversations are always welcome). An air filtration unit is in use in the main room to filter the powdered herbal extracts that are being mixed (optional dust masks are provided as well). The position will require moving up and down a flight of stairs several times per day and may require the use of a step-stool, depending on your ability to reach a 7’ shelf. Many of our work stations are adjustable, based on your preferred position for specific tasks. We take our staff’s health very seriously and are always willing to make adjustments to improve the comfort and ergonomics of the work environment. *COVID-19 Precautions: Currently, all employees are required to wear masks while working. High-touch surfaces are sanitized multiple times per day. These conditions are subject to change as we continue to review the guidance of local, national and global health organizations. Work Hours 16 - 24 hours per week. Shifts will typically take place within or just around our business hours, Monday – Saturday 9 AM to 6 PM.
