A holiday event for friends and supporters of the H.L. Mencken House! Join us for this festive occasion! Join members of the Society to Preserve H.L. Mencken's Legacy and other supporters of the H. L. Mencken House for this holiday event! A special reading of Mencken's Christmas Story will be presented by board member Betsey Waters! This holiday event was created by Betsey Waters. Eggnog and German cookies will be served. All rooms including Mencken's beloved garden will be available for viewing. Christmas Story was published in 1946. William Manchester referred to it "as a whimsical little sketch." This is a fundraising event sponsored by the Society to Preserve H.L. Mencken's Legacy and they invite all admirers of Mencken to participate in this holiday event! A $15 donation is requested. Parking is on street. *  Jeff is  on the Board of the Society for the Preservation of H.L. Mencken's Legacy.  His role is the social media director. He's also the curator emeritus of the Edgar Allan Poe House and Museum. Since 1982 he's been producing and directing  numerous special events for the Poe House including the world famous Poe Birthday Celebration. Jeff intend's to bring that energy and creativity to the H.L. Mencken House.
