General Equipment Operator – Utility Crew Ada County Highway District is now accepting applications for a General Equipment Operator on the Utility Crew, Grade Crew and Drainage Crew. Starting wage is $17.83 - $20.50 per hour, DOQ plus a SIGN ON BONUS! Primary Responsibilities: Utility Crew: Under general supervision of the Utility Crew Chief, the primary duties of this position are to perform skilled work, manual labor, and operate light- to heavy-duty maintenance equipment. The crew performs a variety of work from cleaning ditches, fixing cave-ins, and laying pipe to installing concrete. Grade Crew: Under general supervision of the Crew Chief, the primary duty of this position is to perform skilled work and operate light- to heavy-duty maintenance equipment which includes dump truck, water truck, roller, loader, jackhammer, as well as winter maintenance equipment for plowing, sanding, and deicing the roads. This position will repair and replace asphalt on the roadways, including potholes, trench repairs, shoulder repairs, chipsealing, cracksealing, and other road maintenance. Drainage Crew: Under supervision of the Drainage Crew Chief, the primary duties include cleaning storm drain pipes, catch basins, grates, skimmers, irrigation pipes crossing the Right-of-Way, and sediment tanks throughout Ada County. Performs skilled work and operates light- to heavy-duty maintenance equipment and winter maintenance equipment for plowing, sanding, and deicing the roads. Responding to winter weather conditions and other emergencies is an essential function of this position and may require working outside of normal work hours.
