Help me finish this song

Hi, I’ve been working on a cover track since Dec of last year (off and on as my ears permit!) It is sounding really good but I’m a novice at recording and it’s gotten to the point that my nerves are shot by the time I need to sing the lead—so I haven’t been able to comp together a good vocal. I think if I had someone who enjoyed producing music for fun -or pro- to coach me as we record the vocals, it’s going to turn out amazingly. My goal is to present it to the original artist and see if she will give me the rights to it. I’d get some kind of writing credit since I had to alter some of the lyrics for gender. So far, the DAW I’m using is Cubasis on an iPad Pro with a controller and a couple of synth apps like iM1 and SampleTank. Please hit me up if you have any interest or insight. The song is from 1991, CCM with a pop/R&B vibe. Thanks!
