He wrote in his elementary school graduation book that he wanted to be a cartoonist or a painter. When he was an elementary school student, he won prizes in city and prefectural sketching competitions and other art exhibitions. In junior high school, he did fieldwork as part of his school's educational system. In junior high school, he received fieldwork as part of his school's educational system, and learned poetry, wildflower painting, and nature observation, which gave him more joy in painting. During a family transition after his father's accident, he gave up his first choice of art high school. From that time on, his interest turned to music. Since then, from the age of 15 to 29, he almost never picked up a brush and aspired to become a musician. Then, in 1995, he went to New York City to work as a music director on the staff of his then music teacher, who was performing at Carnegie Hall. In 1995, he moved to the U.S. to work as a music director on the staff of his music teacher who was performing at Carnegie Hall. In New York, he became interested in modern art and contemporary art. He met the late MR GOTO (Katsuyoshi Goto), a pop art artist and super realist from Yamagata, Japan. It was around this time that he began to interact with older artists active in New York. In 1997, I participated in a group exhibition organized by Mr. Goto with a collage work titled "Cats Like Tuna Too. In 1998, she presented an object at “Nude _Rhythm”, and her event was introduced in the Yomiuri Shimbun of the U.S. at the time. After that, however, he concentrated on his musical activities, playing blues and jazz, bossa nova artist, and ukulele player. He was discovered by Yuichiro Oda, one of Japan's most famous composers, and released "Gradation - Wind of Bossa Nova" worldwide. He made his debut on the radio in the U.S., and has since given concerts with Mr. Oda. Now, he is the music director of Ukuhat, the only ukulele specialty store in New York. He has been active as a concert planner and ukulele instructor since 2014. The global Corona disaster sparked Sakai's artistic spirit. He started drawing digital art with his I Pad and completed 50 works in about 6 months. In 2021, he decided to start painting acrylics with a brush he hadn't used for a while. In 2021, he decided to start painting with a brush, which he hadn't had for a while, and started painting acrylics. He continued to paint every day, and in 2021, he now has 180 works. This time, Ukehat, which is also a music store and a live venue, is an art hut. It is the castle of SAKAI's art. “Sky, sea, flowers, cats, dogs, portraits, hearts, love, calorism, sometimes realism, sometimes impressionism, sometimes pop art. I feel the balance between tenderness and strength, and use my observation and insight to freely express myself with my brush.” He expresses himself freely with his brush using his observation and insight. I hope you can feel his unshakable world view and sense of thought through his music and paintings. 100 works will be exhibited.
