PAINT THE PARK PURPLE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: Nichole LeBlanc [email protected] PAINT THE PARK PURPLE AND 5K WALK RAISES FUNDS FOR SCHOLARSHIPS Lafayette, Louisiana – Friends, family, and supporters are stretching their muscles and lacing up their running and walking shoes for the “Paint The Park Purple And 5K Walk” to be held on March 6th, 2021 from 2:00 – 6:00 pm. The event is being held at Girard Park (500 Girard Park Drive in Lafayette, Louisiana). In the spirit of Do It For Kay Organization the event will celebrate the life and legacy of Kaishall Joshlynn Alfred who was diagnosed with lupus and passed away December 12, 2018. The mission statement of the Organization: To improve the quality of life for everyone affected by lupus and mental health through prayer, awareness, motivation, education, support and advocacy. "The goal is to find a cure for Lupus." Revenue from the “Paint The Park Purple And 5K Walk” and other fundraising endeavors will allow the Do It For Kay Organization to raise money for scholarships and also help bring more awareness and resources to the lupus community. This year’s event will begin with Opening Ceremonies acknowledging the family and supporters of Kaishall. It will feature music, education. The Do It For Kay Organization would like to thank all the sponsors that provide food and refreshments for all attendees. There will also be a balloon release at 3pm in remembrance of family and friends who currently suffer from Lupus and those who have ascended. An awards ceremony will be held at the conclusion of the event, acknowledging all the sponsors. "Kaishall Joshlynn Alfred (1994-2018)" Kaishall or Kay was a lupus advocate and educator to everyone on Instagram, Facebook, in person and the founder of Do It For Kay & Lupus Warriors. She had an amazing light about her that touched you and made you feel at peace. At age 11 she was diagnosed with lupus in 2005. At age 21 her kidneys failed for the second time. Kay chose peritoneal dialysis, which can be done at home and by making this choice of dialysis Kay could live a somewhat normal life. On December 12 2018, Kay passed away because of lupus.
