Serving families in the community with free food for a week The pandemic of COVID-19 and its Variances continue to devastate our community, and as many families are forced into quarantine, it is ever so important that we continue our committed support to provide food to those in need, and your help will be greatly appreciated. You may volunteer for one or more shifts that best fits your availability. Please check in at the volunteer check in desk upon arrival. If you require your volunteer hours to be verified, please present your time sheets upon arrival. Please email questions concerning the volunteer process or sign up issues to Wayne L. Williams at [email protected]. For decades our community has come together to feed shut ins, public safety workers and families who need a little help with their Thanksgiving meals. This effort was began by Jimmy Anthony and Gracewood Church. It is now led by a group of community volunteers.For a contribution of $10 you can sponsor five meals. $20 - 10 meals, $100 - 50 meals, etc. It cost only $2 per meal to feed our community hot meal on Thanksgiving.If you would like to donate or sign up your family or organization for food delivery please contact Christian Social Ministry at 912-489-2407 or email [email protected] are some of the organizations and people we serve:• Bulloch County Family and Children Services• Boys & Girls Club• Bulloch County Home Care• Statesboro Summit Apartments• Women’s Place (both locations)• Safe Haven• Concerted Services• Pineland Mental Health• Bulloch County School System• And moreWe also remember the personnel who service our community on Thanksgiving• Statesboro Fire Department• University Policy• 911• EMS• Bulloch County Sheriff’s Department• Georgia State PatrolWe also service anyone who requests a meal. Absolutely no one is refused. All process are used in our mission to make sure everyone in our community can enjoy a Thanksgiving meal.Thanksgiving Day Menu: Turkey with dressing turnip greens, candied yams, snap beans, roll and dessert.We are in need of funding!
