Description

MOUNT VERNON, NY — The Mount Vernon Animal shelter has issued a call for an urgent rescue placement for a sweet cat with a few health issues and a little stress from adjusting to her new situation. Ginger is a diabetic senior, shelter officials said in a call for a permanent caretaker. The cat was found outside someone's home and they were feeding her, but her health issues will require more regular attention. Volunteers also report that Ginger has been a little stressed at the shelter. After a visit to the vet, she was put on an insulin regimen. Unfortunately, during hours when the shelter is closed, there is no one available to administer the needed medicine. The shelter said it is seeking immediate rescue placement only. Those interested in helping this feline friend can email the shelter at [email protected] or private message the shelter's Facebook page.
