STAMFORD, CT — A 17-year-old Stamford resident suffered life-threatening injuries in a motorcycle crash that occurred Monday shortly after 9 p.m., according to the Stamford Police Department.
Sgt. Jeffrey Booth, the department's Collision Analysis Reconstruction Squad (CARS) Supervisor, said the motorcycle, which was operated by the 17-year-old, was traveling southbound on Elm Street when it collided with a Nissan pick-up truck at the intersection of North State Street around 9:20 p.m.
Booth said the pick-up truck turned into the path of the motorcycle.
The motorcycle operator was seriously hurt and was taken to Stamford Hospital, where he's listed in critical condition, Booth said. The driver of the pick-up truck, a 21-year-old Stamford resident, remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
