STAMFORD, CT — A 28-year-old Stamford man who was reported missing last week was found dead in Redding Tuesday afternoon, according to police. Sgt. William Brevard of the Stamford Police Department said Shin Maeno's body was discovered around 1 p.m. about 100 yards into a wooded area off Sidecut Road and Simpaug Turnpike in Redding by officers from the Connecticut State Police Search and Rescue Unit. There were no signs of foul play, Brevard said. According to the SPD, Maeno was seen leaving the apartment of a co-worker's friend around noon on Nov. 17. NBC Connecticut said Maeno appeared upset after an argument with his wife. She reported him missing on Nov. 18, and his vehicle information and pedigree were entered into the National Crime Information Center, according to Brevard. Maeno was last seen in the West Redding area near the Post Office on Long Ridge Road and the Simpaug Turnpike on Nov. 17. His car was found unoccupied at the West Redding Railroad Station last Friday morning by Redding police, Redding Chief of Police Mark O'Donnell said in a news release Tuesday. "While processing the vehicle the Stamford Police located a note in the vehicle which resulted in a multi agency area search where the vehicle was located," O'Donnell added. O'Donnell thanked the SPD for their work on the investigation, as well as the Metropolitan Transportation Authority Police Department, CSP search teams, and the Westport Police Department for their drone unit. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy. Read more from NBC Connecticut
