PUYALLUP, WA — The Puyallup Police Department says it has recovered three stolen vehicles after an incident early Monday afternoon. According to police, the investigation kicked off just before 3:30 p.m., when dispatchers received a call from a motor vehicle theft victim who had stumbled upon his own stolen Ford F-150 near the South Hill Mall. According to the caller, someone was inside his stolen truck and had been meeting up with two other people who had arrived in a Subaru sedan and Jaguar sedan— both of which were also later discovered to be stolen. The caller stayed on scene to watch the cars until officers arrived, and guided them to a parking lot in the 3700 block of South Meridian. From there, the officers tried to make contact with the three suspects. The man inside the stolen F-150 was immediately detained, but the other two suspects hopped inside the Jaguar and sped off. Officers say they did not chase the Jaguar, but it ended up crashing anyways in the intersection of 37th Ave SE and South Meridian. The crash caused minor injuries and clogged the roadway for some time during the afternoon commute. Both suspects fled the crashed Jaguar on foot, but were later captured by the Puyallup Police Department and Pierce County Sheriff's Department.
