As the world’s leading contact lens and eye care manufacturer, Alcon is looking to hire Electro Mechanics to join our Johns Creek Manufacturing team in Johns Creek, GA. Electro Mechanics will be responsible for supporting the installation, optimization and on-going maintenance of our contact lens manufacturing lines. Key Responsibilities: Maintenance Technicians/Electro Mechanics assist in the installation, startup and validation of the Dailies contact lens production equipment. Troubleshoot, repair and perform preventative maintenance to the production equipment. Minimize production downtime and improve yield and quality. Assist with the training and development of Maintenance Technicians/Electro Mechanics and production personnel. Troubleshoot, repair and perform preventative maintenance for all production equipment including technical problems in mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical and control systems. Assist with improvements to the maintenance systems (preventative, corrective, predictive and spare parts). Assist with technical projects for process upgrades and improvements. Assist with revising or writing SOP’s. Deliver training material to other Maintenance Technicians/Electro Mechanics for equipment, maintenance and troubleshooting. Optimize manufacturing equipment and process to provide sustainable gains in product quality, output, product yield and cost reduction. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. The ability to fluently read, write, and communicate in English. Ability to safely use a Multi-Meter on power sources from 24VDC to 480VAC 3 phase. Ability to trouble shoot using electrical schematics. Must have experience troubleshooting industrial equipment. Must be capable of performing proper LOTO (Lockout Tagout) on equipment. Needs to have a basic understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics. Basic ability to use tools such as Micrometers, Calipers, Gauge blocks, etc. Prior experience in industrial maintenance or high paced production environments. Preferred: Technical school certification (e.g., Manufacturing Technology/Industrial Maintenance) or equivalent training/experience. Proven skills in mechanical and electrical core disciplines including: pneumatic, hydraulic, control systems, and equipment schematics. Ability to work with VFD (including troubleshooting, loading programs and adjusting parameters). Ability to perform precise set-ups of equipment using gauge blocks, dial indicators, etc. Ability to troubleshoot using PLC Experience in FDA regulations and safety practices preferred. Work hours: 12 hour Shifts – Either Day Shift from 6:00am-6:30pm or Night Shift from 6:00pm-6:30am on a 2 week cycle (2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off, etc.).
