Press release from the Somerset County Government: 11/22/2021 2:33 PM SOMERVILLE, NJ – While shopping on Black Friday, purchase a toy to donate to the 2021 Toys for Tots collection drive and  help a child in need this Christmas. The toy collection drive is sponsored by Somerset County Sheriff Darrin J. Russo and the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. "This year has been hard for so many of our Somerset County friends and families, with the continuing COVID-19 pandemic and most recently Hurricane Ida," said Sheriff Russo. "Together with Toys for Tots and Somerset County's very generous residents, we can help to ensure that every one of our families gets to close out this difficult year with toys, joys, and celebration." "Thank you to all of the residents and employees in Somerset County who have been so generous by supporting this cause in the past, and those who will donate this year," he said. A collection box has been placed inside the vestibule at the entrance to the county Administration Building, located at 20 Grove St., Somerville, NJ 08876. Toys can be dropped off until Friday, Dec. 13, between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. The ages of gift recipients range from newborn up to 14-years of age. Toy gun replicas and gift cards will NOT be accepted. This assistance includes providing day-to-day leadership and oversight of the Program, raising funds to provide toys to supplement the collections of local Toys for Tots Campaigns, to provide promotional and support material, and defray the costs of conducting annual Toys for Tots Campaigns.
