BEVERLY HILLS, CA — The Beverly Hills Police Department is investigating two attempted burglaries Sunday night in the Business District, police said.
Witnesses identified the attempted break-in locations as the Louis Vuitton store at 259 North Rodeo Drive and Saks Fifth Avenue store at 9600 Wilshire Boulevard, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Multiple suspects used sledgehammers to break through the front windows of the two buildings, but did not enter either building, police said. Police have increased patrol around the two buildings with private security, police said.
Similar smash-and-grab robberies occurred over the weekend in the Bay Area and Chicago, the Los Angeles Times reported, but police did not confirm whether these incidents are being considered in the Beverly Hills investigation.
