Description
Testing the waters for players active (gigging regularly in recent years) in the scene who might want a side project doing Queensryche and other moderately challenging material for a rare, casual but rewarding secondary outlet. Exceptions are possible but I really want people who have been in front of an audience consistently in recent times. No rusty, getting the dust off the instruments thing, nothing personal.
I'm early 50's so the music would be from around that era and better if everyone else is around that age as an average.
I play lead guitar and sing well enough to handle a lot of the range but no one wants this kind of singing in variety bands. I don't have to be the only singer, though. Would need another strong lead guitar, bass and drums; then sort out the PA situation (I have commercial space). Anyone interested must be comfortable in their own ability to learn and play songs from a band like this on their own time so we aren't learning at rehearsal and using up limited time. By comparison, Dream Theater is beyond me guitar-wise and more work than I care to put in anyway. There's a fine line between stupid and clever.
Guitarists, Kemper or Fractal are highly preferred-stacks are not. Scooped mids thrash tone: pass.
Bassists, same thing-an amp the size of a refrigerator won't work.
Drummers, a moderate size kit is preferred; big enough to cover some territory but doesn't take 2 hours to set up.
I probably sound really uptight but this is entirely for fun-which is only fun when everything clicks.
If it works well for a couple of get togethers, we can figure out how to sell it for 8 or 10 times a year in the right venues.
Send me your info and I'll send you mine if it seems compatible
