Fireplaces serve as the focal point of a home, where all eyes gravitate. Tired of looking at the same surface? Learn how to plaster! This class will teach you how to properly prepare your fireplace for plaster and you’ll also learn the basics of plastering, which can be applied to fireplaces, walls, and even canvases. With the right substrate preparation, plaster can be applied to brick, cinderblock, cement board, and sheetrock... Deriving from earthen aggregrates like clay, limestone, gypsum, and marble, the aesthetic possibilities are endless. Come dressed warm, bring your own n95 mask since we’ll be gathered and mixing with dusty materials….and prepare to get gritty! Class will be held both outside and inside the studio. Earth House Studio is located in the vibrant downtown Bremerton creative corridor, about a half mile from the ferry terminal. As a space dedicated to all things plaster, there is a sunny inside work room, an outside space for mess-making, and a detached woods/plaster shop.
