Description

Drinks + Music + History The Volstead Act of 1919 which took effect on January 16, 1920,  prohibited the sale, distribution, and storage of liquor in all public establishments. In Forest Park, of the 50 saloons that operated prior to Prohibition, 25-30 became soft drink parlors, cafes, general stores or shut down completely. Others operated more quietly, but in the same manner, they had operated prior to the ruling. Join us for a look back on Forest Park in the Prohibition era in the side room of O’Sullivans 7244 Madison Street. Travel back in history with live music and enjoy a secretly good time. Each ticket for this event includes 1 welcoming cocktail, 1 cocktail of your choice from our prohibiotion era menu, additional drink tickets available, interactive history, live music, and nibbles. Prohibition-era costumes encouraged!
