Build Belonging at Work by Fostering Employee Visibility
After the 2020 pandemic, with organizations rethinking how to genuinely support diversity, equity, and inclusion, Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are becoming an increasingly important tool in organizations across industries to foster a sense of purpose and connection among its employees.
At the University of Texas at Dallas, Employee Resource Groups operate as independent groups, but they require strategic and cultural support from management to be successful.
Without an alignment, employees lose their shared sense of purpose. The entire organization feels the lag. Drum Cafe brings Interactive Group Drumming as a vehicle for encouraging unity and alignment. Much like a musical ensemble, employees in an organization will find it challenging to create and connect without a tie that binds, or a guiding principle that keeps everyone aligned and focused. Drum Cafe will hopefully leave employees inspired to invest more time, talent, and energy into what they believe ties them to the university and their colleagues.
