"Raise the Woof" for Steph's Bday

For my 49th birthday, I'm having a party at RePour to raise funds for the CMPD Animal Control & Care Shelter where I now volunteer. Nothing like the hair of the dog to kick off a Birthday fundraiser! Tickets are $30, of which100% will be donated to the shelter. RePour is also donating $1 for every drink purchased that day (beer, wine, seltzers). However ... the BEST gift you can ever give is your time! The shelter is at full capacity and even with volunteers, we can't get all the dogs out of their kennel every day, sometimes multiple days. For this reason I'm initiating the "49" Dog Walking Challenge. Tickets to my Birthday are FREE for anyone who walks a dog from the shelter!! Your time is worth much more to me than the donation. The task is simple. Between now and December 11th, I want to see how many of you are willing to participate in the challenge by doing the following: • Take your ID to the shelter located at 8315 Byrum Dr. (M-F: 11am-7pm; weekends 11am-5pm) pick a dog you would like to walk. • Sign a Daycation sheet at the shelter (super simple). • Drive to Renaissance Park (or a place of your choosing), walk and return the doggie. • Post a pic of you, the dog and his/her name on my Facebook page and reference the "49" Dog Walk Challenge! WOOF - best present EVER!!! If you can't make the party, a donation (Venmo handle below) or a dog walk would be much appreciated! Awareness is a big part of this event. The Daycations aren't something I arranged; this can be done any day of the week, year around at the shelter. It's easier than checking out a library book! These poor babies need a break - even if it's only 30 minutes. Side note - Saturdays and Sundays can get busy and are big adoption days. Please consider weekdays - don't wait until the December 11th! The more the merrier, so please get the word out - neighbors, work colleagues, Nextdoor app, church or social clubs, etc...Have them post the pic on your Facebook account and tag me. You get credit in the challenge for their walks! Think ice bucket challenge, but with a little more heart! Let's make it fun and see if we can walk 49 Dogs in the next the next 18 days!
