Description

A free naturalist-guided sunrise paddle along the salt marshes and mangrove shorelines of Robinson Preserve. Calling all early birds! Savor every moment of the shortest day of the year by waking up to witness the crack of dawn while on the water! Join us for an easy sunrise paddle along the mangrove forests of Robinson Preserve to the mouth of the Manatee River and Tampa Bay. We will take advantage of low tide to watch the moon dip low in the west as the sun rises in the east. Don't forget your camera (and a dry bag or box to keep it safe) for this fantastic photo opportunity! Program suitable for ages 18 and older who can meet the County's minimum eligibility requirements. This is an easy paddle that can be enjoyed by beginning kayakers. Participants must have their own canoe or kayak and safety gear. All participants must wear a life jacket and bring a flashlight or headlamp and whistle. Reservations are required for this FREE program. We have a passion to preserve and protect our environment in Manatee County, mixed with a compassion for the well-being of our community and its visitors. From ecological testing of our estuaries’ water quality to organizing yoga classes for the visitors to our beaches to offering classes for healthy relationships, the Parks & Natural Resources Department staff take to heart their responsibilities of ensuring we are all surrounded by a safe and beautiful environment that will enhance the quality of life for all in Manatee County.
