Text “ HIRE ME - New Orleans” at: 361- 8 ONE FIVE -8627. This is a great opportunity for a driven Shop Assistant with a "can do" attitude. This person will be responsible to clean and fuel equipment (tractor-trailers and straight trucks), and provide assistance in the shop. This is a 2 to 3 month temporary job with the possibility of being extended. It is required that you be available to work 7 days a week (when needed) and, available to work 12-14-hour shifts. There is not a set schedule. You must also be available to work in all weather conditions, have reliable transportation, have a valid Driver's License, TWIC card, steel toe boots and available to work at any of our locations (as needed). This position pays between $16 and $18 per hour depending on experience. We pay weekly, and offer Medical, Dental and Vision after 30 days of employment and 401K after a year. Responsibilities and Duties: To fuel and wash the equipment as needed Check fluid levels Check tire pressure, tire tread depth and hub oil levels Completely fills out fuel tickets Complies with all safety, DOT and OSHA guidelines Adhere to company rules and regulations Shuttles vehicles when necessary to and from various terminals so to perform timely inspections, washing, etc. Ensure cleanliness of the shop and surrounding areas Perform other tasks as directed by Service Manager or Immediate Supervisor Qualifications and Skills: High School diploma or equivalent Ensure cleanliness of the shop and surrounding areas. Basic computer skills Good driving record and proven work history Must be able to work in extreme heat and cold temperatures
