Fortis / LTS, Inc. is interviewing for the full-time position of Grounds Maintenance Laborer / Janitor in the Phoenix and Mesa area: The Grounds Maintenance Laborer / Janitor will have experience in Janitorial and Grounds Maintenance procedures. Fortis / LTS will provide tools and equipment required for contracted services. Must be able to pass background check to access military facilities/properties. Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to multiple locations in the Phoenix Metro (Phoenix/Mesa/Glendale) area. The following are key responsibilities associated with this position: • Cuts lawn using hand, power or riding mower; trims and edges around walks, flower beds, walls, etc. • Plants grass, flowers, trees and shrubs; prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth, using shears and other hand tools. • Sprays lawns, trees and shrubs with fertilizers and insecticides. • May perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in grounds maintenance. (transport to local shop) • May perform routine laboring and maintenance duties when grounds keeping work has been completed. (cleaning and toll inspection for damage) • Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them. • Gather and empty trash. (facility and perimeter) • Service, clean, and supply restrooms. • Clean and polish furniture and fixtures. • Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees. • Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications. • Steam-clean or shampoo carpets. • Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors. • Burnish tile floors monthly.
