ARLINGTON, VA — Thanksgiving is not only a time to share a meal with extended family and friends, but it's also a federal holiday with closures for government, schools and other services. Arlington County government office will be closed for Thanksgiving on Thursday, Nov. 25 as well as Black Friday, Friday, Nov. 26. Some services may be closed or altered on other surrounding days as well. Here's a look at what's open and what's closed in Arlington: All Arlington County government offices and services will be operating on modified schedules for Veterans Day on Thursday. COVID-19 Clinics: All Arlington County Public Health Division COVID-19 vaccine clinics and Curative testing kiosks will be closed Nov. 25 and 26. Courts: Circuit Court, General District Court, Juvenile & Domestic Relations Court are closed on Nov. 25 and 26. Metered Parking will not be enforced on Thursday. DMV & DMV Select: All DMV offices are closed on Thursday. Visit DMV's Online Services to access many available. Human Services: Closed (Child Protective Services, Adult Protective Services, and Mental Health Emergency Services open 24/7/365) Libraries: Closed. Parks & Recreation Facilities & Programs: On Thursday, administrative offices and centers are closed; classes are canceled; parks are open but check with your league to see if it is open. Permitting and Inspection Services: Permit Office is closed on Thursday and Friday. No building or trade inspections will take place. Online permitting is available. System is available for customer use and application submissions. Public Schools: Closed Thursday, Nov. 25 and Friday, Nov. 26 for the Thanksgiving Break. Sheriff's Office: Administrative Offices closed on Thursday. Swimming Pools: For openings, see pool schedule. Trash/Recycling/Yard Waste and Special Collections: No collection Thursday, Nov. 25. Thursday routes will run on Friday, Nov. 26 and Friday routes will run on Saturday, Nov. 27.; Customer Contact Center is closed Nov. 25 and 26; No mulch delivery on Nov. 25 and 26; Household Hazards/Electronics Drop-off Facility is closed Nov. 25-Nov. 28. Earth Products Drop-Off Yard is closed on Nov. 25. Treasurer's Office: Closed Nov. 11, but CAPP available for online payments. Transportation ART – ART will operate holiday bus service on Thursday, Nov. 25. ART 41, 42, 45, 51, 55, and 86 will operate regular Sunday schedules. All other ART routes will not operated and the Customer Call Center will be closed. On Friday, Nov. 26, ART 41, 42, 45, 51, 55, 77 and 87 will operate regular Saturday schedules schedules. All other ART routes will not operated and the Customer Call Center will be closed.STAR – The STAR Call Center will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 25 and Friday, Nov. 26.
