Throughout the four-day event, Oblivion Access will transform downtown Austin into sprawling festival grounds while taking over some of the most popular music venues in and around the renowned Red River Cultural District of downtown Austin. Participating venues include returning fan-favorites like Empire Control Room & Garage, Creek and Cave (fka Barracuda), and Mohawk, in addition to new festival hotspots like Elysium, Hotel Vegas, and Central Presbyterian Church. Officials said festival organizers have meticulously curated and handpicked some of the most in-demand metal, punk, and experimental acts from across the globe to perform at the upcoming event next spring with over 70 artists from Texas and beyond now slated to grace the Oblivion Access stages. The 2022 edition will also mark a further expansion into new genres and sounds, continuing the festival's transition of becoming more inclusive while celebrating counterculture and experimental music, officials said. 2022 festival headliners are set to feature a variety of genre trailblazers including a special show from indie vets Blonde Redhead after they complete a recent trek across the US on a nationwide tour with Tool; death metal pioneers Carcass; experimental punk rock band The Locust, whose performance at Oblivion Access marks the band's only Texas performance currently scheduled for 2022; a rare reunion from hardcore punk rockers Youth of Today and more. The four-day passes grant access to all official festival concerts at Elysium, Empire Control Room & Garage, Hotel Vegas, and Mohawk throughout the four-day festival weekend, in addition to some very special non-music events to be announced soon. Fans are encouraged to act fast as badge pricing will increase as the festival approaches with each wave of new performer announcements, plus supply is limited due to venue capacities. Tickets to all previously announced Oblivion Access 2020 events will be honored for their respective date, although any fans with questions are encouraged to email [email protected] Additionally, tickets purchased for both Duster and Daughter's 2020 festival performance will now be honored at Blonde Redhead and The Locust, respectively, as neither artist is able to perform at the 2022 edition.
