Description

1 year old half GS half lab named Henley is ready for her next adventure! She is a great family dog, has grown up with two boys and another dog in the house. I also took her to work with me (I work at a school) so she has been trained to be around all different ages of children. She has also spent many an evening hanging out with us while my son plays baseball. She is an active trail dog, and also has learned trail etiquette on long hikes. We were building up to backpacking but didn't get a chance before the weather changed. Currently, we have been doing shorter hikes training her for off-leash hiking in the backcountry. She has done amazing with her recall and has to date stayed within sight, checking in. She loves walks, runs, the water and balls. She is a great fetcher. She will bring anything back to you and drop it at your feet waiting for the next throw. She knows many commands, including sit, down, wait, stay, give and more. She is house trained (she currently uses a dog door), crate trained, spayed, and rides in a car like a champ. (she just lays down, and she will wait in the car until you say "ok" for her to get out with any doors open). Why does she need a new home? The rules have changed at my work, and I can no longer bring her with me. She now has to be in a crate while I am at work, and it is not fair to her. We have also made the decision to move abroad, and she is not a dog that will do well in the city in an apartment. She needs the stimulation of people and different environments. She needs the mountains and water... She is so smart and trainable... She would make a great adventure dog for someone that wants a companion while out solo hiking or out and about with your family. She would make a great working dog or farm dog. She wants to work, and please her people. She will of course come with her things- beds, food bowls, leash, etc. And there will be a rehoming fee.
