Grant Approved To Repair Randall Avenue Bridge

BRISTOL, PA — The Commonwealth Financing Authority has approved a grant of $975,000 for Bristol Township, which will go toward the repair of the Randall Avenue Bridge. The grant comes a year after an engineer found and reported multiple repairs that would be necessary to keeping the bridge open to traffic and the public, according to Senator Robert Tomlinson, who wrote about the bridge and grant on his official Facebook page. "This money is absolutely critical to keeping the bridge open and traffic flowing," he said in a statement on the page. The funds will go to the patching and repairing aged and damaged concrete, resealing joints on the bridge, and improving the overall stormwater drainage from the bridge and the surrounding area. The bridge, which was originally built in 1919, was listed by PennDot as being in poor condition, which make these repairs necessary for the area.
