Description

PORTER RANCH, CA — Three people including a parole officer and a Los Angeles Police Department officer were rushed to a hospital Monday morning following potential exposure to a hazardous substance believed to be fentanyl. The exposure occurred at a home in Porter Ranch where a parole officer was conducting a compliance check, said Los Angeles Police Department Officer J. Chaves. Paramedics were called to the 20400 block of Sorrento Lane just before 9:30 a.m., after the parole officer experienced a potential exposure to fentanyl said Chaves. "Additionally, one of our officers and a suspect were transported as a precaution," he said. There was no immediate word as to the condition of the officers. Fentanyl is a potent synthetic opioid that can be fatal even in small doses.
