PRIVATE EMPLOYER Located outside Denver, Colorado POSITION OVERVIEW This role is responsible for assisting the Facilities Manager in maintaining a private family’s residential and commercial portfolio. Properties supported include numerous primary and guest residences in the Denver, CO area, local commercial investment properties, and vacation homes. The Assistant Facilities Manager will help the Facilities Manager to identify, prioritize, and oversee all building operations, maintenance, safety/security systems, landscaping, irrigation, pool/spa, vehicle & watercraft maintenance, and the management of regular contract maintenance performed by third-party vendors. The successful candidate must be willing and able to perform hands-on repairs, conduct in-depth inspections and audits of all equipment, plant & building systems, and develop routine maintenance checklists, budgets, and logs. This role will also assist in completing routine maintenance checklists and providing hands-on, day-to-day maintenance of the properties. The Assistant Facilities Manager must integrate seamlessly within an evolving family and be comfortable working closely within a private home setting, with shifting priorities. The ideal candidate is physically fit, computer savvy, seeking a long-term position, and able to manage multiple tasks in a timely fashion. This role is ideally suited for an early-career professional with a professional facilities background in private service, high-end hospitality, yachting, or private resort/club environments. Travel in support of facilities requirements at family-owned properties may be required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Key responsibilities include: • Providing proactive daily grounds and facilities maintenance. • Completion of daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly punch lists and maintenance schedules. • Supporting the coordination and oversight of building and landscaping contractors, architects, designers, engineers, and other consultants or sub-contractors as may be required. • Monitoring and prioritization of family “fix-it” requests. • Maintaining property files and records (e.g., As-Built drawings, executed contracts, O & M Manuals, warranties, project schedules, specifications, budget documents, bids, etc.) • Assist in compiling safety plans for the building and the residents, including, but not limited to, fire protection, emergency plans, and safety plans. • Close collaboration with the Facilities Manager and household team to ensure flawless delivery of all services. • Assisting the Facilities Manager in instituting weekly/monthly reporting protocols to keep the family and household team fully apprised of the status of all properties. • 24/7/365 coverage as required. EDUCATION AND WORKING STYLE Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job successfully: Education, Skills & Experience: -Associate degree (A.A.) from an accredited institution. Three plus years of facilities, grounds, handyman, landscape maintenance, and/or mechanical systems assistant experience, preferably in a private residential setting. Ranch and/or farm experience a plus, including experience with diverse regional environmental land use methodologies, including hay production and cattle grazing, - Demonstrated experience in maintaining the confidentiality, safety, security, and privacy of a private employer. -Experience with complex mechanical systems, including electrical, lighting control, generators, elevator, UPS systems, plumbing, fire sprinkler, and HVAC. - Ability to operate various hand and power tools and equipment used in grounds keeping such as lawnmower, power washers, shears, trimmer, etc. - Experience in basic maintenance repairs, plumbing, electrical, painting, HVAC, carpentry, grounds, pool/spa, and landscape maintenance. - Experience managing both a vehicle fleet and watercraft, including scheduling routine service & maintenance, seasonal tire rotations, detailing, and staging for principal convenience. - Experience working with MS Office is necessary, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. MS Project experience is desired. - Efficient written and verbal skills – fluent in the English language. Familiarity with Spanish is a plus. - Efficient computer skills, comfortable working with a Smartphone, and ability to communicate via text. - Physically fit, as this is a demanding position. Must be able to stand, walk, and lift items throughout a standard shift. May be required to lift/push/pull up to 75 pounds. The successful candidate will be a “self-starter” who can relate well with others in an organized, efficient manner and with a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and follow-through. - Must be a critical thinker with the ability to exercise judgment, set priorities, and cope with competing demands. - Ability to work closely with family members, employees, vendors, and design and construction professionals to promote a productive congenial environment. - Ability to accommodate a non-traditional work schedule and remain flexible to meet the family’s needs. - Possess a hands-on “No job too big or too small” attitude and have a strong moral compass and sense of personal integrity. SALARY & BENEFITS This full-time, salaried role offers competitive compensation: employer-paid medical insurance, 401k, and 15 days of paid time off. Daily schedule is generally Monday – Friday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional weekends and evenings required.
