Description
DEERFIELD — This year, the Deerfield community has a new opportunity to get in the holiday spirit — the first Deerfield Winter Market will take place on Dec. 4 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., complete with vendors, live music and kids' activities.
The market will pop up at Park Avenue and Deerfield Road, with more than 40 vendors selling goods and crafts. It will feature a lineup of live entertainment, a variety of food vendors, kids activities and local charity drives.
According to the Deerfield Winter Market Guide, the vendors will be selling bath products, candles, woodworks, pottery and more.
Local government officials will give out complimentary hot chocolate, Dave Welch of Deerfield BP will serve hot apple cider and popcorn and Deerfield Auto & Tire will provide roasted chestnuts.
From 9:30-10:30 a.m., the Caroling Party will perform. They'll be followed by the Hurricane Saxophone Quartet from 11 a.m. to noon and St. Gregory's Choir from noon to 2 p.m.
The Deerfield Winter Market will have fun for the kids, too: Children can visit with Santa, take in a live snow globe and pay a visit to the North Pole Train.
Officials said pets, bikes and smoking will not be allowed, and masks are recommended for anyone who is not vaccinated.
"We also encourage people to wear masks whenever doing so would make them feel more comfortable," officials said. "Please socially distance whenever possible and please stay home if you are not feeling well or have had exposure to anyone with a suspected or confirmed case of COVID 19."
