BURNSVILLE/EAGAN, MN — A surge in COVID-19 cases has worried ISD 191 officials, according to a report by Sun Thisweek.
As of Nov. 12, ISD 191's lead licensed school nurse Bernadette Bien said 446 students in the district were at home "due to the effects of COVID," according to the report.
Bien said that 126 students in the district have tested positive for COVID-19 this school year, with 26 new cases in the last week, the publication reported.
In Dakota County, nearly 20 percent of new cases reported are in children under the age of 12, the report said. Board members were encouraged to rethink the district's commitment to keeping the schools open this year, the publication reported.
