SCHAUMBURG, IL — A 23-year-old suspect was taken into custody on Sunday, two days after a 28-year-old woman died of blunt force trauma in a Schaumburg building.
Schaumburg Police responded to 1200 E. American Lane at 11:33 a.m. Friday in response to a 911 call for help regarding an unresponsive person, police said. There, emergency personnel found the body of a "female adult victim," and paramedics determined her to be deceased.
The woman was identified as Susan J. Tobey, 28, of Portland, Oregon. Police said she was taken to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office, where an autopsy determined her cause of death to be injuries due to blunt force trauma.
On Sunday, Schaumburg police executed a warrant at the Chicago home of a 23-year-old suspect who was taken into custody without incident, police said.
The Schaumburg Police Investigations Division is continuing to investigate the death and no further information is available at this time.
