UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — An all-hands fire took place Monday afternoon on the Upper West Side. The blaze ignited around 3:40 p.m. in a five-story building at 119 West 106th Street, which is in between Amsterdam and Columbus Avenues. Photo Credit: Gus Saltonstall There were at least 60 firefighters who responded to the Upper West Side blaze, an FDNY spokesperson told Patch. Dozens of people were standing off to the right of the West 106th Street building, presumably after having to evacuate. The fire was put under control by 4:22 p.m., and nobody was injured, the FDNY said. Multiple videos of smoke billowing out the Upper West Side building were shared on the Citizen app, which you can check out here. The FDNY did not say how the fire started.
