8-hour Basic Handgun course for ladies only….…sorry guys. This 8-hour Basic Handgun course is set up for ladies only….…sorry guys. We do have our standard Basic Course where everyone is welcomed. BC Knight Enterprises provides a confidence building and empowering program that is taught in a low pressure and stress-free atmosphere. You will leave this course feeling more confident than ever in your ability to handle a Firearm. The course gives you an overview of handguns in general. It is designed specifically for those that have little or no practical experience handling handguns. If you don’t have a handgun yet, we will help find the right handgun for you. If you already have a handgun we will teach you how to run that specific weapon, plus give you a basic understanding of most other semiautomatic and revolver type handguns. Required Items for class:1. Handgun in good working order - All customer guns will be reviewed by instructor before being allowed on the range. (For $10 dollars you can try out and use any of our handguns during the class.) 2. At least 100 rounds of ammunition. (We have ammo in stock if you can't find it somewhere else. Depending on caliber and type of ammo Boxes of 50 start a $30.00) 3. Eye and ear protection - Prescription classes are perfectly fine. (We can loan you a set of eye and ear protection for $5.00) Key Concepts Taught:Firearms and Range Safety How to operate your firearm and handle it Safely How to load your magazine How to operate the slide or cylinder How to identify and operate the safety if your firearm has a safety How to identify common features on most handguns The Basics of Clearing a Malfunction (jam) Safely and Easily Handgun Nomenclature Care and Maintenance Type of Ammunition and Considerations Introduction to Shooting Fundamentals Stance, Grip, Aiming and Trigger Control. Range Exercise/Shooting Drills Discussion of Applicable Laws Concerning Gun Ownership Prerequisites There are no prerequisites for taking the Basic Handgun course. Show up with a good attitude and a willingness to learn.
