What causes it and the known treatments. -Precautions to observe when treating a patient with Sickle Cell Disease or the Sickle Cell Trait. -Understand why procedures such as dental implants, orthodontia and endodontic treatments may fail. -Recognizing and preventing a “Sickle Cell” Crisis in the dental operatory. -Recommended codes for dental and medical procedures in the dental office. -Covid-19 and the Sickle Cell patient. Linda Chandler-Jacobs BS.,RHD.Linda loves sharing the expertise she has learned about Sickle Cell Anemia and how it effects the dental patient. Linda serves on the Board for Sickle Cell Houston. She is also the founder of the non-profit organization, “The Potters Hand” whose function is dedicated to restoring the dental health of patients with Sickle Cell Anemia. Mishie Nesbitt, CDA, BS, MBAMishie has spent over 25 years in Dental Healthcare. Mishie is a graduate of NYU School of Dentistry in Allied Dental Healthcare and Business Management and Administration from the University of Phoenix.
