IMMEDIATE OPENING: We have a live-in farmworker position on our small family farm on the north shore of Kaua'i, Hawai'i. (Did we say the Beautiful North Shore of Kaua'i? It is that and more!) Housing is provided and all utilities are included. You are required to live on the farm to do this work. The accomodation is a 32-foot, clean, and well appointed RV with kitchenette, bathroom, cooking appliances, comfortable bedroom, saloon, privately located on our beautiful north shore farm. Job requires versatility and genuine enthusiasm for crop production, animal care, food processing, and the associated clean-up, janitorial, and dish-washing required in a commercial kitchen setting. There is field work involved including planting, bed preparation, weeding, mulching, wood chipping, pruning, and harvesting. We have a farm to doorstep delivery CSA, and we also participate in two weekly farmers' markets. Employees need a valid driver's license. You must love animals. We milk a herd of 30 goats twice a day, 365 days per year and milking (mostly by machine) is part of this job. Once trained, this will be 3-4, two-hour milking shifts per week. Baby goats come late winter through spring and baby goat love is needed! There are 2-3 days a week when there is kitchen processing and food packaging in our commercial kitchen. All jobs are alternated between the entire staff, and we try to place folks where they have the most experience, passion, and willingness to learn. We need help in all areas of the operation. We will review resumes of all applicants to see where they might fit in best. The most important abilities are dependability, adapatability, and reliability. We can teach everything else. However, if you have experience in any of the above, that will put you above the cream-line for sure. We are searching for applicants that have the following traits and offerings: Smart, but humble.
