Description

Advent Reflections Presented by Father Jeff Rimelspach, Pastor, St. Margaret of Cortona Church Join us as Fr. Rimelspach leads a conversation reflecting upon the infancy accounts of Jesus in the Bible—specifically in the first two chapters of both Matthew and Luke. As we complete the Year of St. Joseph on Dec. 8, 2021, we will explore the role that both he and Mary had in Jesus’ birth. St. Joseph is the epitome of the quiet, ordinary person moving behind the scenes – and yet he shapes all of human history with his quiet guidance, protection, holiness, and acceptance of God’s will. Pope Francis reminds us that “our lives are woven together and sustained by ordinary people, people often overlooked. People who do not appear in newspaper and magazine headlines, or on the latest television show, yet in these very days are surely shaping the decisive events of our history.” Thus “each of us can discover in Joseph – the man who goes unnoticed, a daily, discreet and hidden presence – an intercessor, a support and a guide in times of trouble. Saint Joseph reminds us that those who appear hidden or in the shadows can play an incomparable role in the history of salvation.” Join us for our monthly conversation on current topics, trends, the Bible, and more all from a Catholic perspective. The event is free to attend you just pay for your food and drink of choice. Open to all adults 21 and over. We meet from 6:00-8:00 p.m. with a social time, speaker, and Q&A. Connect with one another and bring our Catholic faith and conversation into our community.
