Get stoked for a winter of training and racing (or just trying your first skimo race!) at this season kickoff & happy hour. Curious about UPHILL skiing this winter? Join us! The sport of SKIMO racing is blowing up and here in the Roaring Fork Valley we're at the epicenter of the sport in North America (Colorado has more SKIMO races than any other state in the country!) We'll have beer on tap, so whether you're looking to join a social skinning group, or try your hand at the newest Winter Olympic Sport, come by Cripple Creek Backcountry - Aspen, grab a drink, and learn what all the fuss is about! We will be kicking off our weekly group skins after this event, so bring your gear and join us for a self-guided social lap up Highlands, and keep the SKIMO stoke rolling! At this kickoff event will cover the following topics: What is the sport of skimo?Types of skimo gear and how to get started. Local skinning meet-ups, how & where to train.Avy awareness & the backcountry as it related to skimoUpcoming events, training, and races.Why Skimo is for you!
