Description
Learn to cook Lao Salmon Soup! Slurp up this savory and cozy broth, and you will make wherever you are feel like home. Get a taste of Lao cooking! Come learn this authentic Lao Lemongrass Salmon Soup, that we call Thomp Pa. Enjoy something new that you can share with family and friends. My name is Vekonda and I will be sharing my family recipe and techniques straight from my Lao heritage and my momma’s kitchen. I loved having this soup growing up, especially during the cold seasons! It’s a light, brothy, herby, and flavorful salmon soup that makes you cozy inside and feel like home. Pour this soup over a bowl of steamy jasmine rice, and with just a sip, your body will feel loved and zen. Bring a friend! Come cook and enjoy this Lao meal together as we exchange stories and learn about Lao food culture. After class you get to take home a meal prep kit to recreate in the comfort of your own kitchen. The class will take place in the teaching kitchen of Salt City Market in Syracuse, NY on Sunday, Dec. 5th from 1 to 3 p.m. Come bring this recipe home to your family and friends and share the joy in Lao cooking. See you there! About The Lao Project and The Lao Food Movement: This class was brought to you by The Lao Project’s effort to support The Lao Food Movement. My name is Vekonda Luagaphay and I am the founder of The Lao Project. The Lao Project is a collection of narrative portraits that highlight the life journey of Lao Americans for our future Lao American children. It’s a long-term project that provides the type of Lao representation that connects Lao communities across the nation and mentors future generations. We thread the fabric of our foundation with narrative storytelling to empower each other through space and time. Learn more at www.vekonda.com/Laoproject . The Lao Food Movement is an effort to connect all Lao food lovers across the U.S. and the world to preserve Lao food cuisine for future generations.
