All day competition designed to unite lifters of various disciplines under one roof in celebration of STRENGTH! Come join us for our first competition at the brand new Rehoboth Barbell 2.0! Our Strength Sports Showdown is an all day competition designed to unite lifters of various disciplines under one roof in celebration of STRENGTH. This event will be a combination of Olympic Weightlifting, Strongman, and Powerlifting. Olympic Weightlifting (8:00am-10:30am): Athletes will compete to record their highest combined Snatch and Clean & Jerk. Strongman (11:30am-2:00pm): Athletes will compete to record their heaviest combined Axle Deadlift, Log Press, and Atlas Stone Load. Powerlifting (3:00pm-5:30pm): Athletes will compete to record their highest combined Squat, Bench Press, and Deadlift. All events will be held "Rising Bar" style. Bars/implements will start at a set weight, athletes may choose where to begin their first attempt, and each lifter will get THREE ATTEMPTS to hit their heaviest weight. Athletes must successfully make a lift to advance to their next weight. All lifts (except Atlas Stones) will increase by 10lbs or 5kg per attempt. Winners will be determined by using the Sinclair Coefficient for Olympic Weightlifting and the Wilks formula for both Powerlifting and Strongman, therefore there will be no weight classes. Divisions will be male and female and subcategories will be teens (under 20) and masters (40+). Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 division winners and medals will be awarded to the top 3 subcategory winners. Early weigh-ins will be held Friday January 8th from 4:00pm-6:00pm. Event day weigh-ins will be held from 7:00am-7:30am. Rules meetings will be held 30 minutes prior to each event. PLEASE NOTE: We are capping this event at 60 competitors (20 per sport) so let's get those entries in ASAP ladies and gents! Registration closes Friday, December 18th.
