This 3-tiered conference program is specifically designed to inspire and empower women at every stage of their Leadership/Career journey. For over 90 years, the Junior League of Evansville has been dedicated to empowering women to be civic leaders through an effective interactive development program. In support of this mission, the Junior League of Evansville will host the Women’s Conference and Luncheon on January 21, 2021 at the Old National Event PLaza , 8:00 am-3:30 pm. This 3-tiered conference program is specifically designed to inspire and empower women at every stage of their leadership journey—from women who are just getting into the workplace, to rising managers, to tenured executives. The conference will include workshops and a vendor expo focused on women’s interests, career and leadership. During the luncheon, Junior League of Evansville will present the Woman of Empowerment Award as well as name the 2020 Top 20 Women in Business in the Tri-State Area. These awards will recognize innovative servant leaders in the Tri-State area who make our community a better place to live and work. Workshops will feature Victoria Kroll, Google Workshop facilitator and Product Support Manager presenting, #IamRemarkable, a Google initiative empowering women and underrepresented groups to celebrate their achievements in the workplace and beyond. Workshop Selection Session 1: 9:00am - 10:00am Erin Joy- Designed especially for women navigating our current erratic business climate, Erin's workshop centers around planning, strategy, and mindset for women business leaders facing both challenges AND opportunities in these uncertain times. Attendees will walk away with a step-by-step plan for the next season of their lives and careers, as well as an empowering mindset to fuel their resilience and focus. LouAnn Clark- How to Bounce Back When the World Knocks You Down -The challenges of modern living can be enough to flatten even the strongest women, but the right skills can help you conquer those demands. In this session, you will gain proactive tools to build resilience and create positive change in all areas of your life. Denise Kincaid -Radical Candor - Let's discuss how using Radical Candor can change our lives both personally and professionally. Radical CandorTM is Caring Personally while Challenging Directly. At its core, Radical Candor is guidance and feedback that’s both kind and clear, specific and sincere. Kyla Dowell Pivot Points: Changing Careers in an Uncertain Job Market -Making a career change is intimidating, but the benefits can be life-changing. In this interactive session, you will be presented with some tools to identify when and how to pivot in your professional life. Session 2: 10:15am - 11:15am Kathleen Lapekas -Negotiation Skills for Women According to a recent Forbes survey, 68% of women never negotiate their salaries when taking a new job (while 47% of men do). This course will help teach basics in negotiating so that women can feel more comfortable (and less guilty) about negotiating for things that they want. Julie Weyer- Be Financially Fit - Learn about the importance & different phases of saving, the need to protect your income now & preparing your income for retirement. Amelia Roberts -The Curious Key to Leadership - Being the best might get you to the top, but it won't keep you there. Tammy Shaw Join Tammy Shaw in a conversation about Marketing Yourself and Your Business in 2020. What Message Are You Sending? Every word you say, everything you communicate and how you present yourself is a message to the world. Marketing has evolved so much in the past few years. With numerous avenues to market yourself and your business you need to be genuine, authentic, and to tell your story so that it resonates with individuals and companies. Session 3: 1:00pm – 2:00pm Victoria Kroll #IamRemarkable Workshop (workshop ends at 2:30pm) - #IamRemarkable is a Google initiative empowering women and underrepresented groups to celebrate their achievements in the workplace and beyond. One of the big hurdles women and underrepresented groups face when tackling the leadership gap is practicing self-promotion — or vocally expressing their achievements in a working environment. The benefits of self-promotion are vast — including taking control of how you're perceived by others and making them understand the unique contribution you can make. Ashley Johnson -Be the Boss of Your Feelings: How to handle life's stressors without hurting yourself - Do you listen to the voice in your head that says you can do it or the voice that says you're a failure? Learning how to recognize your feelings and separate them from your self-worth is a tough but important task. This session will teach you easy and effective ways to identify and address your emotions and know when it's time to seek some help from a professional. Jessica Rick -Microaggressions Matter - Microaggressions are common in the workplace; however, they can be challenging to respond to. In this session, we will discuss common microagressions in the workplace, reflect on moments we have experienced microagressions, and learn constructive ways to respond to these small moments of communication. Natalie Rascher -Squad Goals - How your Network and Personal Brand can Accelerate your Career Goals Session 4: 2:15pm – 3:15pm Amelia Roberts Liberate -Yourself - How to feel validated and whole no matter what. Jessica Rick The Balancing Act of Work-Life - We all face a variety of pressures in our lives which makes finding balance quite challenging, if not impossible. In this session, we will discuss larger structures at play in the work-life balance equation. By understanding these structures, we can learn small ways to improve our quality of work-life. Jenn Montague- Leading Ourselves & Others in Times of Change - In this session, Jenn will provide an overview of the Social+Emotional Intelligence Competencies that help us lead in times of change. You'll learn about and practice using tools to help yourself and others positively and productively navigate change during this interactive workshop.
