Description

We have a 4 month old puppy that we might be considering rehoming. We chose this puppy to be a part of our family and be a presence on our 5 acre farm to deter eagles, etc from grabbing chickens and ducks. Her breeds are not known for killing farm animals yet she has started to do so. She playfully herded at first which we stopped her from doing whenever possible so that a bad habit did not form but she has continued to do this whenever she finds her chance. Today she went further. We aren’t set on rehoming her but if we wait until she is older and she continues doing this, it’ll be a problem we can’t solve. She is emotional, which most of the time is just a funny thing to witness, but it is also a known trait for these breeds. If someone else raises her, they have to fully understand beating her is not the solution. She is very very smart but quirky and needs to be understood. She has been around kids and is friends with our cats, although, she will chase them too if she isn’t sleeping next to one. She spends a lot of time with people. She is a full on lap dog is allowed to be. She would need to go into a family where she is not left alone since that is what she is used to. We have left her alone in her crate for up to 6 hours during the day a handful of times and she has always done great, but she is used to being free in the house or outside most of the time. She is 99% potty trained. If you don’t see her leaning against the back door, she will pee by the door but that has always been human error because she is still a puppy. She has never peed in her crate. She likes ripping up paper if she finds it but has never chewed up anything. She is not a drooler. I’m not going to post photos of her. I’ll send them privately. She gets a ton of attention from people when she is out because she is very beautiful. She has had no issues in the car, around other dogs, is crate trained, is a big talker (more like a Husky), easily learns new commands and tricks, has become best friends with our other dog (who should be a chicken killer, but isn’t). She is going to be big. She already is. She needs a big yard but does not need a ton of exercise.
