Laguna Playhouse Longtime Artistic Director Says Farewell

LAGUNA BEACH, CA —Ann E. Wareham is departing her position as Artistic Director of the Laguna Playhouse, the playgroup announced Friday. She will stay through the end of this calendar year to assist with the transition. Wareham discussed her experience with the playhouse and what it has meant to her. "It has been a tremendous honor to be able to guide the Laguna Playhouse over this past decade and to serve the extraordinary arts community of Laguna Beach," she said. "It is such a vibrant and truly special place and I will be forever grateful for this opportunity." President of the Board of Directors Glenn Gray discussed her upcoming departure, and what she has meant to the playhouse. "Over the past 11 years, Annie has been instrumental in the artistic growth and vision of the Playhouse," Gray said. "The staff, crew, Playhouse donors and Board of Directors join me in wishing Ann nothing but the best as she embarks on her next journey." The Laguna Playhouse has featured many talented performers on stage in its long running history, including Ed Asner, Leslie Caron, Hershey Felder, Harrison Ford, Melanie Griffith, Val Kilmer, Gregory Harrison, Dan Lauria, Hal Linden, Wendie Malick, Rita Rudner, Charles Shaughnessy, French Stewart, Loretta Swit, and Bette Davis.
