Join us on Tuesday, November 30th, 2021 for the Community Engagement Screening of Muhammad Ali @ The Anacostia Arts Center! Bigger than Boxing, Larger than Life: Black Men Breaking Barriers Featuring clips and an in-depth panel discussion from Ken Burns’ 4 part Muhammad Ali docuseries November 30th 6:30-8pm Anacostia Arts Center Brief: You’re invited to join WHUT and Anacostia Arts Center at a screening event, featuring Ken Burns’ Muhammad Ali: Bigger than Boxing Larger than Life docuseries. This project brings to life one of the best-known and most indelible figures of the 20th century, a three-time heavyweight boxing champion who captivated millions of fans with his mesmerizing combination of speed, grace, and power in the ring, and charm and playful boasting outside of it. Ali insisted on being himself unconditionally and became a global icon and inspiration to people everywhere. This event will include clips from the series, along with an insightful panel discussion about how Black men have broken barriers over the years and continue build on the work of figures like Muhammad Ali. WHUT-TV, Howard University Television was founded in 1980 in Washington, D.C. as WHMM. At its inception, the station became the first public station in the United States to be licensed and operated by a historically black college and university (HBCU) - Howard University. The station broadcasts reach over 2.5 million households in a 60-mile radius.
