Who wants to start a country/alt-country band?

Description

Giving this a shot. Anyone want to start an original country/alt-country band with me? What I'm envisioning: A bar band that puts on a fun, energetic live show. A band that is country at heart with a rock n' roll spirit, one that is willing to get loud and bend genres at times. We'd play a lot of fun drinking songs, but also some sappy, heartfelt stuff, too. I'm not really interested in sounding like the polished, pop-country stuff you hear on the radio, not to say that some songs wouldn't go in that direction. I'm a singer-songwriter. I played with a band here and there back when I lived in Louisiana, but I've mostly played solo-acoustic shows over the years (a mix of rock, pop and alt-country, although this project would focus on country). I have a collection of songs to get started with, but I DON'T have to be the only songwriter or singer in this group, assuming our styles mesh well together. I'm just looking for a new challenge, to collaborate with some like-minded musicians, create some good music, hopefully make some new friends and, most of all, have some fuckin' fun. I have a vision for this, but I'm also easy to get along with and always open to ideas. (I embrace the collaborative process.) I sing and play rhythm guitar (mostly acoustic). Looking for lead guitar, bass and drums. I'm good with anyone from 30-50 years old. (I'm in my 40s.) I live in Union County, so obviously would prefer to connect with musicians reasonably close by. I'm not thinking this will be a huge time commitment. Weekly practices on average, maybe 6-10 shows a year. We'll see where it goes from there. Would love to record, too. I'd like to think we'll make some money, but if that's a high priority for you, this probably wouldn't be the band for you. Anyway, if this sounds like the sort of band you'd be interested in joining, let's talk.
