Express your unique aesthetic through wearable art!
Express your unique aesthetic through wearable art! In this two-day, 4-hour workshop, students will learn to customize their own denim jacket or jean pants. Students will learn how to distress denim, deconstructing the weft and warp to create interesting one of a kind handmade textures. We’ll then explore light embroidery or patchwork to add further interest to your creation. Next, students will extend their design to incorporate painted works on the fabric. Students are invited to create allegorical artwear that speaks to their individuality. Students should bring a piece of clothing to be customized. All other supplies are included in the cost of tuition. If you have a passion for textiles, art and design, this is the class for you!
This program runs on two Thursdays, December 2nd and 9th from 3:30-5:30 and is designed for students ages 13 to 17.
