Description

Hammer, wrap, harden and transmutate! In this two-day workshop, students will explore the properties of copper metal through ring making. We will start by covering the foundations for making your own rings, such as; finding your ring size, different uses for different gauge wire, cold connection exploration, and how to wield the tools of a metalsmith! Just in time for the holidays, students will be able to fabricate multiple rings for themselves or loved ones. During this workshop we will explore; wire design techniques, wire wrapping, work hardening and transmutation with hammers, and how to make your own patina with natural ingredients. Find a rock outside or bring in a tiny treasure and learn how to turn it into a wearable ring! All other materials and tools are covered in the cost of tuition. This youth program is a two-day workshop held on December 3rd and 10th from 3:30-5:30 PM. It is designed for students ages 13 to 17. Perri is an artist and entrepreneur who loves to follow her own path in life! When she's not thinking about and making jewelry, she can be found telling her cat, Saturn, how much she loves him, appreciating the beauty of trees, and studying the stars as a way to make sense of it all! She loves mixing mediums and exploring new realms of art and creation.
