Trumpet player? Want to work on an original project?

Description

I’m looking for a Trumpet (maybe flugelhorn as well) player that would like to work with me (guitarist) in composing pieces, rehearsing together and eventually bringing a drummer in, and so on. I think this will be an enjoyable and challenging project/band for a trumpet player because you’ll have a lot of autonomy. This will not be a situation where I tell you exactly what to play, or to have you on stage for a song, or to look unique because we have a horn. You are an integral part of the sound. I want to find someone that will write with me and help expand some of the ideas I have, and hopefully come up with some of their own starters that I write to. The material is a bit noisy, discordant, sometimes pretty, sometimes sparse. It will be louder than a jazz band, a bit chaotic, but not at ear melting volumes. I’d prefer that we sound good without at a reasonable stage level. You should be comfortable, or at least interested in playing in odd time signatures and perhaps improvising a bit. I have a studio in Gowanus where we can meet at least once a week to work on songs and after we get 3 or 4 to where we want them we can bring in a drummer and low end. I’m super patient, always learning with no big EGO and am open to playing with someone of any gender/age. Just a certain level of motivation I'm looking for- get songs together, play some local shows and record a record. Some musical influences here for this are: Ken Vandermark, experimental/improvisational jazz, Tortoise, Gastr Del Sol (camoufleur album), do make say think. Let know what's up and we can meet for a jam.
