Owls have played a magical part in the natural world for millions of years and continue to fascinate all nature lovers today. NHG welcomes back popular speakers Carolyn Oldham and Jerri Kerr, our birding experts, to bring you into the mysteries that surround the owls that can be seen here in Texas. Get this informative look at the owls of North America with a special emphasis on the 4 species in our neighborhoods, plus a look at the other 15 species that appear in other parts of our state. Detailed will be their unique features, their interesting lives and their role as natural pest control. Included are identification tips including field marks and their calls, plus tips for attracting owls to your yard and how they manage insect populations for us. The continuing success of our owls depend on maintaining the types of habitats where they thrive, which includes our own urban neighborhoods. Find out how you can do your part. FREE.
