Supporting and Sustaining School Attendance in the Era of ESSA Presenter(s): Timothy Sheldon During this academy, participants will unpack the significance and source of student absences and how they impact student learning and school ratings in the era of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Participants will have an opportunity to analyze practices that support the accurate assessment of attendance and to design interventions to improve their individual student and school attendance rates. Throughout the academy, attendees will be afforded opportunities to explore research and best practice, learn from their peers, and develop attendance plans for their schools and districts. Event Credit(s): 6 AA Refunds will be issued only to participants who contact SCISC five (5) business days before the start date of the program, or if the program is canceled.
